Yeah let s see where Nokia strategy is going to.

In the disruptive environment of IT- communication industry of today you do not compete only on your product, but on the whole ecosystem. Then, Nokia is on the burning platform today. So where will they jump into tomorrow ?

  1. "I believe we have lacked accountability and leadership to align and direct the company through these disruptive times. We had a series of misses. We haven’t been delivering innovation fast enough. We’re not collaborating internally" (Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, 2011)

I have met a Nokia R&D manager at a symposium about micro-energy in Berlin sometime in 2006. She was giving a presentation about Nokia's innovation strategy - she proudly announced Nokia's vision: "a computer for every child around the world" and she showed a slid about a cheap netbook for kids. Has been quite close to a smartphone but damn they missed their chance :-(

Reading this desperate burning platform memo is quite pathetic - maybe I should buy a Nokia (rubber boot)
